HOW DO YOU SAVE WATER?

GREAT RESPONSE TO POSTER COMPETITION

As part of our recent Island-wide efforts to reduce water use on St Helena, a poster competition on ‘How do you Save Water?’ took place in Island schools between 7 and 28 February 2017.

The competition, which aimed to encourage pupils and students to display through artwork their most creative ideas on how they were saving water during the recent water shortage, saw a great response – with 113 posters submitted between Island schools.

These posters will now be judged by the St Helena Warning & Informing Group, in the following age categories:

  • Early Years: Nursery & Reception
  • KS1: Year 1 & 2 pupils
  • Lower KS2: Year 3 & 4 pupils
  • Upper KS2: Year 5 & 6 pupils
  • KS3: Year 7 to year 9 students

Unfortunately, no posters were received for the KS4/5: Year 10 to 13 students’ age category.

Connect Saint Helena Ltd will sponsor first, second and third cash prizes for the most creative water saving ideas submitted. Once the winners are named, all posters will be publically displayed.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the competition. Winners will be announced shortly.
