Public Protection is foremost, which includes safeguarding, child protection investigations, vulnerable adult investigations (current and historic), domestic abuse and the management of offenders in the community.
Multi-agency working is a vital part of our work where often investigations are carried out jointly with other Directorates.
We work closely with the Attorney General’s office and other Court users to ensure the effective and timely management of prosecution cases through the Criminal Justice system.
Intelligence-led policing drives our business identifying policing priorities with regard to how our resources are deployed through a monthly Tasking and Coordination meeting and our Daily Management meetings.
The team consists of a Detective Chief Inspector, Detective Sergeant, Detective Constables, Offender Manager and a CID Office Manager who are based at Police Headquarters, Coleman’s House, Jamestown.
