COMMONWEALTH DAY 2017 – A PEACE-BUILDING COMMONWEALTH

PRINCE ANDREW SCHOOL STUDENTS JOIN COUNCILLORS IN DEBATE

In the lead up to the Commonwealth Day celebrations, Councillors have been working with Prince Andrew School students to raise awareness about the Commonwealth and the role of parliamentarians. This will culminate in a debate that will take place on Commonwealth Day, Monday 13 March 2017, at 11am in the Council Chamber.

Focusing on the Peace-Building theme, six students from Prince Andrew School, and six Councillors will debate the following motion:

‘That Members of the Commonwealth should make promoting and contributing to peace-building their highest priority’.

Students taking part in the debate are Andrea Midwinter, Hannah Beard, Duwaine Yon, Isaac Greentree, Britney Coleman and Abigail Yon.

This interesting debate will be broadcast live on SAMS radio 1.
