Post-School Scholarship student, Chloe Terry of Young’s Valley (photo attached), has recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Air Transport Management, from Loughborough University in the UK, after three years of study.
Studying for her Degree in Air Transport Management provided Chloe with a critical, comprehensive, and practical understanding of the structure and operation of the transport industry – with a strong focus on aviation – alongside general core management principles.
In Chloe’s final year of study she carried out a 17,500 word research Dissertation based on the challenges of operating air services to remote areas, with a particular focus on St Helena. This project, which accounted for a significant proportion of Chloe’s third year, involved conducting interviews and surveys on St Helena and other remote Islands.
Chloe said:
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank those interviewees involved, especially in the St Helena aspect of the project.
“I’ve always had an interest in aviation and transport which is why I studied this course. I had been looking forward to returning to St Helena when the Airport was expected to be fully operational earlier this year but have now been fortunate to be offered a position as Flight Coordinator at ExecuJet Aviation Group – one of the largest operators of business jets worldwide – which I am really looking forward to.”
A number of flights to St Helena Airport have operated from ExecuJet’s South African base.
Director of Education, Shirley Wahler, concluded:
“We congratulate Chloe on her hard work and outstanding achievement and wish her every success in her chosen profession.”
Well done to Chloe from all at SHG.
