Governor Lisa Phillips held her fourth Sunday afternoon tea party at Plantation House yesterday, 10 July 2016, to thank CCC carers and their families (pictured).
Since arriving to St Helena, Governor Lisa Phillips has so far hosted afternoon teas for a range of carers, medical staff, roads personnel and public works staff. This is part of her initiative to recognise those working hard behind the scenes doing valuable work which keeps the Island running.
Governor Lisa Phillips said:
“I am enjoying hosting my Sunday afternoon teas. In my inauguration speech I said I wanted to listen to different views, be more visible to the people of St Helena and open up Plantation House.
“The teas are a way for me to appreciate and thank those who do valuable jobs for the Island – and to meet as many people as possible. My aim is to get everyone to the House for tea during my time here.”
