CUSTOMS, TAX & PORT CONTROL CLOSED

MONDAY 12 OCTOBER 2015

Customs, Tax & Port Control advise the public that their offices will be closed on Monday 12 October 2015.  This closure is necessary to allow essential remedial works to be carried out as a result of the rock fall on Saturday 3 October 2015.

During the closure there will be no pedestrian or vehicle access to Jamestown Wharf – but as a balancing measure, HM Customs will operate (from the Freight Terminal) for merchants on Saturday 10 October, from 8.30am to 4pm.

The Wharf will reopen to the public on Tuesday 13 October 2015 for normal trading, but due to the arrival of the Royal Navy, Port Security will be in place at the main gate to control pedestrian and vehicle access.

Normal security arrangements will be in place for the arrival of the RMS on Wednesday 14 October and limited port operations will be allowed on Thursday 15 October while the RMS is in Harbour.

Normal operations will resume following the departure of the RMS on Friday 16 October 2015.

HM Customs, Tax & Port Control apologise for any inconvenience caused.
