The Governor Designate of St Helena, Ascension Island and Tristan da Cunha, Dr Philip Rushbrook (see photo attached) accompanied by his wife Janis, will arrive at St Helena on Saturday, 11 May 2019.
The Governor Designate and Mrs Rushbrook will be met on the apron at St Helena Airport by HE the Acting Governor, the Chief Secretary and the Aide de Camp before being greeted in the Airport Business Lounge by The Rt Rev The Lord Bishop of St Helena, the Honourable Speaker, Honourable Deputy Speaker, Honourable Members of Legislative Council, the Sheriff of St Helena and the DFID on-Island Representative.
The Governor Designate and Mrs Rushbrook will then be taken to Plantation House.
The Inauguration Ceremony will take place in front of the Supreme Court Terrace, starting at 4pm, when Uniformed Contingents and schoolchildren will be on parade.
Following the ceremony, His Excellency and Mrs Rushbrook will proceed to the Governor’s Office at the Castle where they will be able to greet Councillors, officials, dignitaries and members of the public.
