THEFT OF PERSONAL PROPERTY FROM THE MULE YARD

POLICE APPEAL FOR INFORMATION

On Saturday night, 20 October 2018, two women, namely Melissa Fowler and Fiona Campbell, had their handbags stolen from a table whilst at the Mule Yard in Jamestown.

Melissa’s bag is navy in colour, covered in small white polka dots, with brown leather handles, and brown leather pockets on each end of the bag. Fiona’s is by Zara, it is orange in colour, made of suede, with a long silver chain for a handle. The contents of both bags were also taken.

St Helena Police Detective Sergeant, David Honan, said:

“I am appealing to anyone who knows who stole these bags to get in contact. I do not believe they were simply picked up by mistake. What is particularly sad about this is that the victims were enjoying a family day out at the carnival and had been supporting a good cause. Both work so hard for the community in their day to day jobs, Melissa in tourism and Fiona in Probation, so I would ask the community to do right by them and if anyone knows something to pick up the phone or drop me an email.”

Anyone who may have any information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Police Headquarters on tel: 22626 or the Confidential Crime Line on tel: 22888 regardless of how minor they may consider their information. Alternatively, they can email the Criminal Investigations Department via email: cid@sainthelena.gov.sh.
