A School Warden Crossing of criss-crossed yellow lines has been painted on the road adjacent to the main gate of Pilling Primary School, Jamestown, to improve the safety of pedestrians in this area.
A School Warden Crossing is not a general pedestrian crossing as it is only in operation for short time periods – specifically when a School Warden (‘Lollipop’ person) is present and showing the ‘Lollipop sign’ to stop. Drivers are not allowed to cross or park inside the yellow demarcated area during this time.
