IT Development & Support Officers, Jessica Young and Christine Henry, from SHG’s Corporate IT Section will depart St Helena on Saturday, 24 March 2018, to undertake a CC4 Management training course at Research Machines (RM) Head Office in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.
RM focuses on the development and provision of effective solutions for use within the teacher and student environment. The two-day training course will allow both Jessica and Christine to gain further knowledge on how to manage the current RM network at Prince Andrew School. Once the training course is completed, Jessica and Christine will engage in an exposure visit and will spend their time at a secondary school, located in Oxford.
Jessica commented:
“I have been working with RM CC4 network for almost eight years, and it would be great to expand my knowledge and make sure we are using this system to its full potential. It is also great to see how other schools use the RM CC4 networks and maybe we will be able to make changes to our system to better Prince Andrew School and our overall management.”
The courses have been tailored to St Helena’s requirements and will entail server types and roles, using the RM Management Console (RMMC), Package Building, Network Protection, Software Management, and Registry Policies.
Christine added:
“This opportunity will allow me to gain knowledge and exposure to the system. Having tailored training will allow for better understanding of what is required to manage the system here on the Island.”
Both Jessica and Christine will return to the Island on Saturday, 7 April 2018.
Jessica worked at Prince Andrew as the ICT & AV Technician in 2010 before transferring to her current job. Christine started work with Corporate IT in 2003 as the Executive Officer before transferring to her current role in 2010. Both Jessica and Christine have gained qualifications in CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Mobility+ & Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate: Windows Server 2012 (MCSA).
