SHIPPING UPDATE

Ocean Observer

Further to the press release issued yesterday regarding the Ocean Observer to bring passengers to St Helena, AW Ship Management Limited (AWSML) has advised that the vessel departed Cape Town, yesterday evening, Wednesday 19 April 2017. She is transporting 10 passengers from Cape Town to St Helena. Further information on her estimated time of arrival will be released shortly.

The Ocean Observer is diverting to St Helena on her way to Puerto Rico. As a survey ship the vessel can only take a limited number of passengers, therefore to comply with safety regulations the UK Maritime & Coastguard Agency would not give her approval to carry any more passengers on this voyage.

MV Helena

The cargo vessel MV Helena is currently loading in Cape Town. Her estimated time of departure is tomorrow evening, Friday 21 April 2017. The MV Helena is transporting to St Helena the cargo from RMS Voyage 256, she is scheduled to arrive at the Island next Thursday evening, 27 April 2017.

Due to limited cargo requirements by Ascension Island, the vessel will not be travelling onward to Ascension.

RMS St Helena

The RMS St Helena arrived in the Simonstown dock last night (Wednesday 19 April) and docking operations started this morning. It is expected that the ship will be on the blocks by lunchtime today and that the dock will be dry by this evening.
