SEVERE SEA CONDITIONS – UPDATE & REMINDER

The public is reminded that St Helena is currently experiencing some heavy swell conditions. It is forecast that this will continue throughout the week with a significant north-westerly swell on Thursday and Friday and throughout the weekend. A reduction in swell height is expected on Monday 10 April 2017.

The public is advised to take care and attention when accessing the Sea Front area and, to prevent vehicle damage, drivers are asked to avoid parking near the rails.

Swell conditions are expected to be just as heavy in Rupert’s Bay and the public is reminded to take care in the Beach, Shears and Wharf area at Rupert’s.

Port Control will be monitoring conditions and may restrict access to the Sea Front and Wharf area if conditions worsen.
