RMS UPDATE

The RMS St Helena has departed Cape Town. She is travelling to False Bay where she will anchor in readiness to go into dry dock in Simonstown tomorrow morning, Wednesday 19 April 2017.

It is estimated that the RMS will be ‘dry’ on Thursday, 20 April; technical personnel will be available to start work then.

All passengers have disembarked and are being accommodated with family & friends or in a hotel. Medical referrals have returned to Panorama Lodge.

AWSML Passenger Manager in Cape Town, Suzanne How, and Dr Niall O’Keeffe will have daily meetings with passengers in the Cape Sun hotel.

Meanwhile, investigations into an alternative means of transporting passengers to St Helena continue.
