MV ASTOR DUE TOMORROW

Cruise Ship, MV Astor, is expected to arrive in James’ Bay at 6am tomorrow, Saturday, 8 April 2017.

Despite hopes that passengers will come ashore, severe sea conditions and an exceptionally heavy north-westerly swell might prevent this from taking place.

A risk assessment to determine whether conditions will allow passengers to come ashore will be carried out at the Wharf prior to the arrival of the MV Astor tomorrow morning. The decision for passengers to disembark lies ultimately with the Ship’s Captain.

If the decision is that passengers will not come ashore at Jamestown Wharf, Rupert’s Wharf will not be used as an alternative, again due to exceptional and severe sea conditions.
