The public is advised that, due to a large Low Pressure crossing the lower Atlantic Ocean, a significant south-westerly swell has been forecast for St Helena from Monday, 1 May, to Friday, 5 May 2017.
The public is reminded to take care when accessing the Seafront area during this time and to avoid parking near the rails to prevent damage to vehicles.
The same sea conditions are expected in Rupert’s. The public is therefore advised to take care when swimming at Rupert’s or in James’ Bay during this time.
Port Control will be monitoring conditions at the Seafront and could restrict access to the Wharf area if conditions deem necessary.
