Further to the press release issued on 17 January 2017 announcing the dissolution of Legislative Council and the 2017 General Election, the public is advised of the following changes to the timetable:
Legislative Council will now be dissolved on Saturday 20 May 2017. The St Helena Constitution requires that a General Election be held not less than six weeks (nor more than three months) after the date of dissolution, therefore this year’s General Election is now planned for Wednesday 26 July 2017.
All eligible persons are encouraged to ensure they are registered on the Electoral Roll and exercise their right to vote.
Further information on the upcoming General Election will be issued over the coming months.
