Councillor Pamela Ward Pearce, departed the Island on Monday, 1 February 2016, to attend the British Islands & Mediterranean Region (BIMR) Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians meeting in Guernsey, which will run from Friday 12 February to Sunday 14 February 2016.
Plenary sessions for the conference focus on Gender Budgeting, Women & Health, Social Care Policy and Women in the Economy (Employment Policies & Education Policies).
Councillor Ward Pearce commented:
“This is a great forum to exchange ideas and to create opportunities for the empowerment of women.”
Whilst in transit on Ascension Island, Councillor Ward Pearce will be holding public meetings with St Helena residents, in order to take their views on developing the Ten Year Plan for St Helena.
