RMS ST HELENA – FURTHER UPDATE

Further to the press release of Monday 3 August 2015 on the RMS St Helena, SHG is pleased to report that the RMS came out of Dry Dock yesterday morning, Wednesday 5 August, and embarked her passengers for Voyage 229 yesterday afternoon.

Cargo operations have gone well and it is expected that the ship will depart Cape Town at 16.00hrs this afternoon.

The RMS is now scheduled to arrive at St Helena on Tuesday 11 August – three days later than her original schedule, departing on Wednesday 12 August and arriving at Ascension on Friday 14 August – two days later than originally planned.

A W Ship Management Ltd has published details of the RMS’ onward itinerary (attached) which indicates that the ship will pick up her original schedule during Voyage 230.

Shipping Director of St Helena Line, John Marden said:

“It is unfortunate that an offshore support vessel in the dry dock ahead of the RMS was delayed and then adverse weather further delayed the dry docking process. Both the onboard and shore teams have worked hard to recover the programme, look after passengers affected in Cape Town, and minimise the onward disruption to the RMS schedule.”

Revised dates V229 to V230
