Contracts Support Manager for the Airport Directorate, Tessa Roberts (see photo attached), has successfully completed all mandatory courses of the Global ACI-ICAO Airport Management Professional Accreditation Programme (AMPAP).
The mandatory courses that Tessa undertook and passed include:
- Air Transport System (Face-to-face in Atlanta)
- Airport Operations, Safety & Security (Online)
- Airport Planning, Development & Environmental Management (Online)
- Airport Commercial & Financial Management (Online)
“I embarked on this programme in 2017 at the Gateway Course in the USA where I was privileged to study with Airport Professionals from around the world. The courses within this programme has been a great experience and has broadened my knowledge on ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices, ACI policies, guidelines and contemporary issues, and challenges that confront the various stakeholders in the aviation industry. All of these areas covered are assisting me in my role within the SHG Airport Directorate.
“Communication and networking is a key feature of this programme. I have met hundreds of participants from airports around the world who all share information, and have worked with a wide range of nationalities on group assignments where the challenge has always been the difference in time zones and language barriers. Some group members were from Abu Dhabi, Mexico, Caribbean, USA, Nigeria and Canada.
“I am proud of my achievement and look forward to advancing my studies in Airport Management.”
Tessa is now the first St Helenian to be eligible for an AMPAP Associate Diploma, and will be undertaking elective courses in 2019 in order for her to earn the full International Airport Professional (IAP) designation.
