The new Treasury, Infrastructure and Sustainable Development Portfolio brings together a number of key functions that have a significant role to play in enabling the achievement of our 10-Year Plan’s ‘altogether wealthier’ goal – developing sustainable growth for St Helena and residents.
The Treasury takes the lead in the effective and efficient management of public finances on St Helena, for the long term sustainable growth of the Island. The Treasury team also oversees the public financial management framework and controls that ensure the government is accountable to the Legislature and the public in the management and use of public resources.
Infrastructure – Property, Roads, Buildings Maintenance and Rockfall Protection, and Projects – focuses on managing, maintaining and developing the Crown’s natural and built assets. A new Project Management Office (PMO), has also been created and includes Technical Services and the Economic Development Investment Programme (EDIP). The PMO will oversee other projects implemented across SHG.
St Helena Government’s Sustainable Development Team works to ensure Islanders are ‘altogether wealthier’ by developing St Helena industry, promoting sustainable and green growth, increasing the skilled workforce and ensuring that everyone on St Helena prospers from sustainable economic development.
