TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF FREE BULKY WASTE COLLECTION

Waste Management Services (WMS) is currently being seriously affected by low staffing levels and the damage to a Refuse Collection Vehicle (following the accident on New Year’s Day).

WMS has been resolute in continuing to provide all normal services, but it is now evident that the Free Bulky Waste Collection service needs to be temporarily suspended in order for the Land Rover and trailer to assist the remaining RCV with domestic and commercial waste collection.

Therefore, with regret, the Free Bulky Waste Collection service is temporarily suspended with immediate effect and all residents who have previously booked this service are kindly requested to make alternative arrangements for the removal of their bulky waste to the Landfill Site. We are attempting to contact residents who have previously booked the service to advise of the temporary suspension.

The public are reminded that Horse Point Landfill Site is open as normal for waste disposal from Monday to Sunday, 09.00 to 15.00hrs – and the public are advised to recycle where possible.

WMS sincerely apologises for this inconvenience and hopes to resume the service again in the near future when staffing and resources permit. A further update will follow in due course.
