DANGEROUS SEA CONDITIONS

The public is advised that despite some settling in the severe swell conditions, recently experienced in St Helena, the forecast is that the swell conditions will continue until Wednesday, 1 March 2017.

The public is therefore advised to continue to take due care when visiting the Sea Front area. To prevent vehicle damage, drivers are asked to avoid parking near the Sea Front.

Port Control will continue to monitor conditions and may restrict access to the Sea Front and Wharf area.

The same conditions are expected in Rupert’s Bay. The public is asked to take care when visiting the Rupert’s Beach, Shears and Wharf area.

A further forecast is due on Monday, 27 February 2017, and the public will be kept updated.
