BURGLARY AT ST PAUL’S

POLICE APPEAL FOR INFORMATION

St Helena Police are currently appealing to the community for information in relation to a recent burglary at the home of Paul and Lindsay McGinnety in St Paul’s.

Detective Sergeant, David Honan, said:

“Recently, Paul and Lindsay McGinnety’s home in St Paul’s was burgled. Two watches were taken – a Hugo Boss watch and a distinctive watch celebrating a 1992 Ice Hockey tournament. I am asking for the help of the community, if you have any information as to who was responsible or where these watches are now, then I would ask you to come forward.

“Whilst conducting house-to-house enquiries in the area, I came across numerous houses where the occupants were out but windows and doors had been left open. It is a sad fact that people living amongst us will take advantage of our trusting nature to steal from us, so I remind all of you to please secure your homes.

“Recently, a man received a custodial sentence for a burglary at the Half Tree Hollow Community Centre. I endorse the message sent by the Courts that offences such as this cannot, and will not, be tolerated. If you commit burglary then you should expect to be imprisoned.”
