The St Helena Police Directorate is today, Friday 18 May 2018, operating from their new Headquarters at Coleman’s House (formally the Adult Vocational Education Centre), near Seales’s Corner, Market Street.
All services provided by the St Helena Police are now housed in one building. This includes the following teams:
- Administration
- Community Police Team
- Criminal Investigation Department
- Firearms Licensing
- Liquor Licensing
- Immigration Office
- Probation & Offender Management
- Senior Management
All visitors should report to the reception (the first office on the ground level as you enter the parking area). The building is clearly signposted so visitors can find the appropriate services easily.
Visitors should note that there is limited visitor parking. The parking area entrance and exit are still to be defined, so please drive with care and attention and do not obstruct the emergency vehicles or the entrance.

Acting Chief Inspector, Jonathan Thomas, said:
“I am pleased to announce that the move to Coleman’s House is complete. We have named our new Headquarters in honour of our fallen colleague Constable Leonard Coleman who was killed in the line of duty on 2 December 1982.
“I have mixed emotions – it is good to be in our new building but sad to leave our previous Headquarters, which someone once told me is the oldest Police Headquarters in the Southern Hemisphere. There will no doubt be minor matters which will arise as we settle into our new building but on the whole it has gone well.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all personnel who had a hand in establishing our new Headquarters and I look forward to continuing to provide a service to our community from our new location.”
