The first ever St Helena Care Awards Ceremony will be held at the Governor’s residence, Plantation House, on Thursday, 28 September 2017, at 6.30pm.
During the nomination period, a total of 100 nominations were received from the public spanning across all eleven award categories. The nominations have gone through a panel of judges who have chosen the 2017 award recipients.
Governor Lisa Phillips said:
“I’m looking forward to the opportunity that the St Helena Care Awards will give us to showcase dedication and commitment, as well as demonstrate the crucial role our professionals play in caring for some of the most vulnerable people in the St Helenian society.”
Event Organiser, David Vago, said:
“We were very pleased with the amount of nominations received from the public which shows how much the work of carers is recognised on-Island. A big ‘thank you’ to those companies that have donated prizes namely – the Bank of Saint Helena, Moonbeams, Solomon & Company (St Helena) Plc, Bertrand’s Cottage, Rose & Crown, the Consulate Hotel, Mantis Hotel, the Queen Mary Store, and the Human Rights Commission. We look forward to a great night on Thursday for the very first St Helena Care Awards.”
