LADDER HILL ROAD CLOSURE

UPDATE

Excavation work on Ladder Hill Road started today and is going well, however the Roads Section has advised that more work is needed than initially thought.

The public is therefore informed that excavation work will continue tomorrow, Wednesday, 25 October 2017, from 9.30am. Narrabacks, Shy Road, the Jamestown Fuel Station and the whole of Jacob’s Ladder will remain closed tomorrow. The Prison and Ogborn House will again be evacuated. Residents are currently being contacted.

The work area on Ladder Hill Road has been made safe and Narrabacks and Shy Road will reopen this afternoon until work starts tomorrow morning. Evacuees will also be able to return to their premises this afternoon.

In the interest of public safety, Ladder Hill Road remains fully closed to vehicles and pedestrians until Monday, 30 October 2017.

During this closure period all access to and from Jamestown will be via cross country – White Gate on towards the Dungeon, to Gordon’s Post and then into Jamestown via Side Path Road.

The public will be kept updated via the local radio stations.
