St Helena Police have received a report of a paramotor glider being flown along the Deadwood Ridge and in the Alarm Forest area at around 5.30pm on Monday 27 February 2017. This area falls inside the controlled airspace for St Helena Airport.
This matter is now under investigation to establish the circumstances of the infringement with regards to the requirements of the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order 2013.
St Helena Police are seeking information as to the identity of the owner of the paramotor and the pilot at the time when the infringement into the controlled airspace was believed to have taken place. The paramotor is described as having a white canopy with green trimming and a green cross.
Any person with information on the owner or pilot of the paramotor is asked to contact the St Helena Airport Operations Manager on tel: 25180. Information will be treated in confidence. The owner of the paramotor is also asked to please contact the Police Station.
