1 JUNE IS ‘GLOBAL DAY OF PARENTS’

Global Day of Parents is a United Nations observance which takes place annually on 1 June each year. It is a time to celebrate parents and recognise how important they are to the wellbeing of society.

We can do this as an Island by:

  • Honouring parents and their commitment to children, and
  • Remembering that the family has primary responsibility for the nurturing and protection of children.

Parents play an important part in shaping everyone’s life. Children – for the full and harmonious development of their personality – should grow up in a family environment and in an atmosphere of happiness, love and understanding.

Global Day of Parents appreciates the role of a parent in nurturing and fostering the growth of their children.

Happy Parents Day!
