The following is a Public Announcement from the Emergency Planning Department:
The Emergency Planning Department would like to advise the public that there will be an increase in South Easterly winds from Wednesday, 5 September, through to Thursday, 6 September.
Wind speeds during this time are forecast to average between 30-35knots with possible gusts of over 40knots. This is a significant increase on St Helena’s usual wind speeds of around 10-15knots.
It is anticipated that wind speeds will decrease by Friday, 7 September.
