EXTENDED DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS
The deadline for nominations for the first ever St Helena Care Awards has been extended until Thursday, 14 September 2017.
These annual awards, launched by the Safeguarding Directorate, will pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work across the Social Care Sector.
Organiser of the event, David Vago, said:
“These awards are about promoting the fantastic work that individuals, both within the Safeguarding Directorate and the community, are providing to vulnerable people who need support within their own home. Our staff, and carers who operate in the community, are the most essential part of the services we provide.
“In addition to this, it is important to remember that this is the first ever Care Awards on St Helena, and it is a chance for us as a community to praise the hard work and determination of individuals who are involved with the services. I have extended the nomination deadline as I feel that there is still time for individuals to be voted for as they deserve a nomination for the work they do.”
There are eleven award categories available for nomination, representing all areas of the Social Care Sector – whether it be community, specialist services, residential or home care.
A list detailing all eleven award categories and their criteria can be found on the Publications page of the SHG Website at: www.sainthelena.gov.sh/publications.
Nomination forms are available from various places of public interest including: The Castle, Public Library, Customer Service Centre, and at Brick House in Jamestown. Posters detailing how to make a nomination are also available at these locations.
