Job Description
The Emergency Planning Department is updating its list of volunteer resident translators.
If you are fluent in any language other than English and would be willing to contribute to the safety and security of the community, we would like to hear from you.
As a translator, you could be called upon to translate during a variety of scenarios. A recent example of a translator utilising their skills was during a casualty extraction from the fishing vessel Rameses Dous.
The translator communicated via radio with the ship’s crew explaining the disembarkation procedure. By doing so the translator helped ensure that the extraction was carried out in the safest possible way and within all COVID-19 guidelines.
