Job Category: Science and Engineering Associate
Contract Type: Fixed-Term
Company: St Helena National Trust
Application Deadline: 10 September 2021
Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the St Helena National Trust in a supporting role. We are looking for an Intern to join the Trust Marine Team funded by the UK charity Blue Marine Foundation (BLUE). The Marine Team works with the community to champion and support the development and delivery of St Helena’s IUCN Category VI Marine Protected Area and learn more about the species within it.
The Intern must be a strong swimmer, have an interest in the marine environment and preferably have studied modules in marine science, be comfortable working as a small team and be self-motivated to work on tasks individually. This paid role is full time, starting ASAP for an initial period of up to nine months – until June 2022 – with the possibility to extend if further funding is secured. The role will include ocean and beach fieldwork and fully funded external training opportunities.
The Trust is an independent non-governmental organisation driven by a passion for St Helena and our built, cultural, and natural heritage. We have a strong emphasis on team-work and collaboration, and believe that our staff are the greatest assets that we have.
If you feel you could contribute to the Trust and would like to join a team that is passionate about seeing good things happen on St Helena, then we want to hear from you.
