Planning Officer - 1 Year Fixed Term

£13,569 per annum
We are seeking a Planning Officer to work in the Planning Section to help deliver sustainable land uses

needed while protecting/conserving the outstanding natural and built environment on St Helena as part of

the land development service. We welcome applications from those with a degree but for this level post,

someone with “A” Levels ( or at least 5 GCSE’s) with a genuine interest in Geography, Economics and/or

Technical Drawing may find that this suits them. We would look to provide training for the right candidate.

You will have good communication skills, can analyse and summarise information and draft reports for

Chief Planning Officer (delegated) or Land Development Control Authority (LDCA) decision. You should

be confident in advising members of the public and others of planning law, regulations/orders and

processes, be able to negotiate better planning outcomes and present applications at LDCA meetings.

You should be able to gather relevant statistics. Again, training if needed, can be provided. You will play

a key role, with the Senior Planning Officer and Chief Planning Officer as well as support staff, in meeting
