At the heart of St Helena Government’s vision are three main dimensions: our environment, our economy and our social obligations.

The St Helena Government Vision and Strategy is designed to focus government activity where it is most needed. It focuses on the below strategic themes to ensure that resources and energy are directed into the following priority areas:

  1. Stabilising the Population and Labour Market:
Creating conditions for people to stay, return, and contribute through fulfilling careers, skills development, and fair access to services.
  2. Protecting Living Standards and Core Services:
Ensuring immediate support for those under pressure, while reforming health, social care, education, and infrastructure for long-term sustainability.
  3. Enabling Sustainable, Locally Driven Growth:
Diversifying the economy, investing in digital and physical infrastructure, and working with businesses, investors and community organisations to develop productive economic sectors which safeguard the environment as a strategic asset, and create an enabling environment for growth.

In order for this vision to be achieve current legislation and policies are being reviewed. This will provide improved accountability, delivering a more responsible government that operates effectively, efficiently and ethically.
