- Thursday 9am – 3.30pm (closed 1.30pm – 2pm for lunch)
- Friday 9am – 3.30pm (closed 1.30pm – 2pm for lunch)
The Pharmacy is open Saturdays from 9am to 11.30am. Only pre-ordered repeat prescriptions will be dispensed on a Saturday.
Remote dispensing
The Pharmacy bus that follows doctors surgeries operate on:
- Monday – Half Tree Hollow
- Wednesday – Levelwood (alternate weeks)
- Thursday – Longwood
- Friday – Half Tree Hollow
An ‘On call’ service for emergencies to deliver prescribed treatments is also provided.

- Residential homes dispensing for the Community Care Centre and Cape Villa
- Medicine compliance aid dispensing service
- Chronic conditions support with general life-style advice
- Over The Counter (OTC) sales to the public
- Patient Group Directive (PGD) – treatment ordered by pharmacist for patients with conjunctivitis and urinary tract infections medications that otherwise would have required a doctor’s appointment
- Special ordering of medications
- Colostomy supplies ordering
- Stock management and material management
- Over 1000 active items that are managed for the hospital and pharmacy including medical consumables
- Clinical pharmacology advice to doctors
The pharmacy team comprises six members of staff:
- 1 pharmacist
- 3 full time dispensers
- 1 part time store/part time dispenser
- 1 full time store keeper
We source our medications and medical devices from the UK and South Africa.
