The Environment, Natural Resources & Planning Portfolio (ENRP) brings together the following functions:
- Agriculture
- Biosecurity
- Environmental Management and Protection
- Environmental Risk Management (including Waste Management, Climate Change, Pollution Control, and Water and Energy Policy)
- Forestry
- Land Planning and Building Control
- Marine Enforcement (including Fisheries Licensing)
- Marine and Fisheries Conservation
- Terrestrial Conservation
These work programmes and services support the Government’s Vision and Strategy for St Helena’s sustainable development, funded through its recurrent budget alongside environmental donor grants.
A workforce of over 80 staff is employed to deliver the portfolio’s responsibilities, and are based at three locations as follows:
