The Highways Authority has given approval for a section of Ladder Hill Road – from China Lane to Shy Road junction – to be closed on Wednesday, 2 June 2021, between 9am and 3pm.
This closure is to allow the Rock Guards to carry out a controlled rock removal.
Appropriate signage will be in place and, as normal, only Emergency Services will be granted access.
Persons wishing to travel in and out of Jamestown during this time must travel across country and via Side Path Road or Constitution Hill Road. Shy Road may also be used by cars and light vehicles as a way out of Jamestown for essential journeys only due to the vehicle weight restriction in place on Shy Road.

St Helena Police are currently investigating a burglary at the Post & Customer Services Centre, Jamestown. This incident occurred between 1.30pm on Saturday, 22May, and 8am on Tuesday, 25 May 2021.
Entry was gained and property damaged. A Ford Transit Connect Van, registration number, SHG 42, was stolen from the premises and then returned at an unknown time.
Anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in this area or saw SHG 42 being driven between Saturday afternoon and Tuesday morning are encouraged to urgently contact the Police, regardless of how minor they may consider their information.

World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is on Monday, 31 May. Created by the World Health Organization (WHO), this year’s campaign focuses on ‘commit to quit’.
In recognition of WNTD, the Health Service Directorate will be holding a stall at the Jamestown Market between 9am and 1pm on Monday, 31 May 2021, to highlight the dangers of tobacco use, showcase the wider range of Nicotine Replacement Therapy products soon to be available on St Helena and talk about the new St Helena Stop Smoking Service (SSS).

The Health Service Directorate would like to advise the public that there will be a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Friday, 28 May, from 10am to 12 Noon at the Flu Pod, the General Hospital.
The Clinic is open to persons who have been advised to attend in order to receive their second dose of the vaccine. Any persons who missed their earlier scheduled appointment to receive the second dose of the vaccine should also attend.
If there are persons who have not yet received any vaccinations but would now like to do so, this is an opportunity to visit the Clinic and receive your first dose. This applies to all persons who will reach the age of 18 years on or before 28 May 2021. You will be advised of the date of your second dose appointment at the Clinic.
Any persons aged 18 years and over who may have recently arrived to the Island and would need a first or second dose administered, are also welcome to drop into the Flu Pod on this day.
There are a limited number of vaccine doses available and there is a shelf life in which they must be used. The Health Service Directorate therefore urges persons who are still to receive the vaccine to come forward now.

The Highways Authority has given approval for the road to be closed from White Gate to Water Course Road between 10am and 12 noon tomorrow, Thursday 13 May 2021. This is to enable the Forestry Section to carry out emergency tree felling works.
For the duration of the works, the diversion route will be via Francis Plain Road through to Scott’s Mill and Red Hill Road and vice versa. Appropriate signage will be in place.
The Forestry Section would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank the public in advance for their understanding and cooperation.

St Helena Police are currently investigating an incident involving a dog/s worrying cattle in the Deadwood Plain area.
This incident occurred between approximately 7pm on Thursday, 15 April, and 10am on Friday, 16 April 2021.
Dogs worrying livestock is an ongoing issue and dog owners are reminded that they are responsible for ensuring their dogs are tethered and they know exactly where their dog is at all times.
Incidents such as these could cause financial loss, hardship and inconvenience to livestock owners.
With the assistance of the community, these types of crimes can be prevented. Police are therefore appealing to the public to come forward with any information to ensure justice for the victim and to help prevent these incidents from reoccurring.

Persons departing on the Titan Airways flight this week, who have planned onward travel from the UK/Accra which requires you to have a pre-departure COVID-19 test result, are advised that a testing clinic will be set up in the flu pod at the General Hospital in Jamestown on Thursday, 13 May, at 9am.
If you require a test, bookings should be made with the, COVID-19 Coordinator, Grace Richards via grace.richards@sainthelena.gov.sh or on tel. 22500.
A pre-departure COVID-19 test will cost £75.00.
Persons are required to make payment at the Pharmacy, prior to being tested, and will be asked to provide their receipt of payment at the Flu Pod testing clinic. Failing to produce a receipt of payment will result in not receiving a test.
Test results will be available at check-in at St Helena Airport on Friday, 14 May, 2021.

The public is advised that the road, from the junction near St Matthew’s Church towards Halley’s Mount and through to the Dungeon Cemetery, will be closed on Wednesdays between 9am and 3pm from 12 May to 2 June 2021.
This closure is to allow the Forestry Section of the Agriculture & Natural Resources Division to carry out tree surgery works.
During these closures, the diversion route will be via Gordon’s Post. Appropriate signage will be in place.
The Forestry Section would like to thank the public in advance for their co-operation.

The Highways Authority has given approval for Side Path Road to be closed from Wednesday, 12 May, to Wednesday, 19 May 2021, from 9am to 3pm (weekdays only).
This closure is to allow the Roads Section to rebuild the retaining wall on Side Path Road and to clean the culvert near the Guide Hall, Jamestown. During culvert cleaning works, traffic through Napoleon Street to the Brow and Seales Corner to the Brow will also be affected.
Only Emergency Services will be granted access during this closure. The diversion route for all other traffic will be via Constitution Hill Road. Appropriate Signage will be in place.

The following is a Public Announcement from Port Control:
The public is advised that the Jamestown Wharf will be closed to all members of the public on Wednesday, 12, Thursday, 13, and Friday, 14May 2021, due to the arrival of the MV Helena and subsequent cargo operations.
Access to the Jamestown Wharf will be strictly prohibited and is limited only to those who have made prior arrangements with Port Control.
The public is also advised that the whole of Lower Rupert’s, including the beach area, will be closed to the public whilst the ship is in port.
