If you intend to be in St. Helena for more than six months and work, you will generally require a Long Term Entry Permit
You will also require a Work Permit

if you intend to work in a self employed capacity or your employer will need an Immigrant Employment Certificate.  In either case you will also need to pass a points based system assessment.

Points Based System – Entrepreneur / Investor

This is for single entrepreneurs or investors or partnerships of no more than two. For people who wish to invest more than £50,000 into a business in St. Helena.

As a minimum, to pass the Points Based Assessment under the Entrepreneur/ Investor category you must:

  • Intend to invest at least £50,000 (excluding own accommodation and maintenance)
  • Submit a business plan for your proposed investment covering the first five years.

You should submit the Points Based System Assessment entrepreneur investor and business plan with your application for a work permit and Long Term Entry Permit to the Secretary of the Immigration Control Board at pa.cop@police.gov.sh

Points Based System – Working Migrant (Self Employed)

This route is for persons who wish to work in St. Helena in a self-employed capacity.

If you intend to work in Saint Helena in a self employed capacity you should complete the Points Based System self employed and submit with your application for a Work Permit and a Long Term Entry Permit to the Secretary of the Immigration Control Board at pa.cop@police.gov.sh

Points Based System – Working Migrant (Employed)

This route is for persons who wish to work in St. Helena for an organisation which is either based in or has an interest in St. Helena.

If you have been offered a job with an organisation, you should complete  the Points Based System working migrant and submit this along with any Long Term Entry Permit and a copy of your employer’s Immigrant Employment Certificate to the Secretary of the Immigration Control Board pa.cop@police.gov.sh
