Side Path Road will be closed on Thursday, 26 April 2018, between 1pm and 4pm. This closure is to allow the Rock Guards to carry out a controlled rock removal above the Carnarvon Court area.
In the interest of public safety, all residents and workers in the Seales Corner area, including the St Helena Community College, the Carnarvon Court Complex, Connect Saint Helena Ltd, Harris’ Flats, Matrons Quarters, Parish Block, and the Brownie Hall, are asked to evacuate these premises by 12.30pm on Thursday, 26 April, and to remove their vehicles, to allow works to commence.
During this time, the Salvation Army Hall, in Jamestown, will be open from 11am on Thursday for evacuated persons.
Side Path Road will be closed from the Briars junction and Field Road junction.
Seales Corner area will be closed from Seales Corner to The Brow in Napoleon Street.
Persons wishing to travel to and from Jamestown during this time are asked to travel via Constitution Hill.
Appropriate signage will be in place.
The public should note that if there is a deterioration in weather conditions, the proposed closure and evacuation may be put back to the same time on Friday, 27 April.
The public is thanked for their cooperation and is advised to listen to the local radio stations for updates.
