The public is advised that the Rupert’s Beach area has been closed with immediate effect.
The Health Directorate has reported that wastewater is seeping into the beach area – this poses potential health risks.
Investigations into the cause of the incident have begun and the public will be kept updated as to when the beach area will be reopened for recreational use.
In the meantime the public is asked to adhere to the beach closure signs in place.
