RESTRICTED ACCESS TO RUPERT’S AND JAMESTOWN WHARF OVER EASTER

The following is a Public Announcement from Port Control:

Rupert’s

The public is advised that access to Rupert’s Wharf will be restricted from midnight on Sunday, 14 April 2019, for the MV Helena’s arrival early on Monday, 15 April. Restrictions will remain in place until the vessel departs the Island on Thursday, 18 April (Maundy Thursday).

Rupert’s Wharf including the beach area, will also be closed to the public from Friday, 19 April, and over the Easter weekend for the arrival of the fuel tanker and fuel operations to take place.

Following the departure of the fuel tanker,  the Wharf and Beach will open to the public.

 Jamestown Wharf

Due to ‘break bulk’ cargo still being on the Wharf from the arrival of the MV Helena, access to the Lower Wharf will be restricted over the Easter period. Access to the lower landing steps will be at the discretion of Port Security.

Emergency Services will of course be permitted access to both the Jamestown Wharf and Rupert’s at all times.

The public is thanked in advance for their cooperation and will be advised as to when these restrictions will be lifted.
