PUBLIC ARRANGEMENTS FOR INAUGURAL FLIGHT

St Helena’s first commercial flight is scheduled to arrive at St Helena Airport on Saturday, 14 October 2017, at 1.15pm.

St Helena Airport will be open to the public on Saturday from 9am to 4pm.

Members of the public will have access to all landside facilities. This includes the Tourism facility, the Bank of St Helena facility, the Shop, the Restaurant and the Viewing Platform. Departing passengers will also have access to the Duty Free Shop, the Airside Café, and the Departures Lounge.

The flight’s arrival can be viewed from the viewing deck. Other viewing options on the day include:

  • Horse Point
  • Ben Coolen
  • Millennium forest
  • Bradleys
  • Great Stone Top
  • The Barn
  • Woody Ridge
  • Creeper Hill (Behind the Airport parking)

There will be no access to Mole Spider Hill.

V2 Taxis will be offering a shuttle car taxi service between Longwood Avenue and the Airport at £2.50 for a single fare or £4.00 for a return fare.  This service will be in place for the inaugural flight and on subsequent flight days.

The flight is expected to depart St Helena on Sunday, 15 October 2017, at 2.30pm. St Helena Airport will be open to the public from 9am to 4pm.
