The St Helena Police Directorate is currently in the process of recovering approximately 400 roofing slates, 150 reclaimed yellow bricks and a number of heavy granite slabs from Crown land in the Blue Point area of the Island.
Detective Inspector, David Honan, said:
“I am keeping an open mind as to where these items came from and I am appealing for anyone who has either suffered a theft in recent months or has in fact abandoned these items for whatever reason to come forward and speak to me.
“These items represent a significant loss for someone; I would like to reunite the legitimate owner with these building materials as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information relating to the theft of materials such as these is encouraged to contact the Police.
