The Finance Department manages the overall accounting for the St Helena Government. The department operates several offices including a public cash office which deals with various financial transactions. There is also a Tax Office which deals with tax-related enquiries and queries. HM Customs is also part of the Finance Department and the department is responsible for the Information Technology Section which provides IT support to all of the St Helena Government.
