Solid Waste Plan Launched for Public Consultation
17 August 2012
On 15 August , the Natural Resources Development and Environment Committee (NRDEC) agreed that the draft solid waste management strategy should go out for public consultation for one month.
The strategy builds on the proposed approach for the core management of solid waste agreed by Executive Council on 26 June 2012. It includes goals to separate the storage and collection of organic waste and to encourage recycling.
Organisations and members of the public are invited to review the strategy, which is available online at: www.sainthelena.gov.sh. Hard copies are available at Essex House, and if you would like a copy to be e-mailed to you, please write to Lucy Cranfield at: eo.admin@legalandlands.gov.sh
All responses will need to be submitted to Lucy by e-mail or to Essex House reception (for hard copies) by no later than the 15 September 2012.
For more information please contact Ian Rummery, Environmental Risk Manager, at Essex House. Telephone 2270, or e-mail at: risk.manager@environmentalmanagement.gov.sh
