MONTSERRAT CONFIRMS APPOINTMENT OF COLIN OWEN

The Government of Montserrat has today confirmed that terms and conditions have been agreed with St Helena’s Financial Secretary Colin Owen.  Colin will join the Montserrat administration as Financial Secretary in August this year.

Speaking of his appointment, Colin said:

“It has been a real privilege to work for the people of St Helena for nearly six years – my family and I will sorely miss this beautiful Island and the friendships we have made.

“It will be very sad to leave but we are looking forward to starting our new life on Montserrat.  Thanks to you all!”

 Chief Secretary Roy Burke added:

“Colin has been an important part of St Helena for some time now, both in a professional capacity and outside work too.  Colin, Helen and the whole family have intergraded into the community and they are all well-liked and respected.  It is difficult to imagine them not being here.

“On a personal note, I would like to thank Colin for his significant contribution and for his help and guidance over the past two years. We all wish Colin and his family well on the next stage of their Island adventure.”

Colin and family will depart St Helena on the RMS on Sunday 10 July 2016.
