INCIDENT AT CONSULATE HOTEL

At around 1pm today, Tuesday 29 November 2016, St Helena Police and the Ambulance Service were called to the Consulate Hotel, Jamestown, where it was reported that a serious assault had occurred. As a result of this incident, a female is receiving treatment at Jamestown Hospital, having suffered serious injuries.

A man was arrested at the scene and remains in custody.

Chief of Police, Trevor Botting, said:

“This is a serious incident and we are investigating the circumstances which led to a female receiving serious injuries.

“At this stage we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident. No further details will be released today, but a further statement will be made tomorrow.”
