The first sitting of the tenth meeting of Legislative Council will take place on Monday, 25 March 2019, at 10am in the Council Chamber and not on Friday, 22 March, as previously announced. The meeting is expected to last two days continuing on Thursday, 28 March, and will be broadcast live via SAMS Radio 1.

The main purpose of this meeting will be the Budget Session when, on Monday, the Financial Secretary will make his Budget Speech to Legislative Council. This Motion will then be adjourned until Thursday when Legislative Council will respond to the Financial Secretary’s speech and debate the proposed Budget. 

Eight Sessional Papers, including three Bills for an Ordinance – Income Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2019,  Property Tax Bill, 2019, and Appropriation Bill, 2019, will be presented in the House along with four questions and four Motions.
