DANGEROUS FOOTPATH CLOSURE

LOWER FOOTPATH – MUNDEN’S TO RUPERT’S

Due to severe cracks and rock displacement on the cliff face at Romans Cove, it is necessary to close the lower footpath from Munden’s Corner to Rupert’s, in both directions.

Following assessments, it has been decided that the cliff face could fail at any time without warning, therefore the footpath will be closed until further notice. This closure also extends to the area of seawater, from the shore-line at Rupert’s Jetty, to the rocks below Munden’s.

Members of the public will still be able to walk to Rupert’s Bay by using the upper pathway from Munden’s Corner.

The public is advised that fishing, scuba diving, swimming and boat operations should not take place in this area.

Rock Guards are in the process of carrying out work to close the footpath and put in place warning signs.

The restricted area is highlighted on the below map.
