The Highways Authority has given approval to close the road at Constitution Hill, from Barnes Road Turning to Chubbs Spring, with immediate effect and until further notice.
This is to allow Masons from the Roads Section to carry out immediate work on a retaining wall.
Residents in the area can still access their properties from the Bus Shelter (Corner Wall) to Barnes Road Turning and Chubbs Spring as well as via New Bridge Road.
The public will be kept updated.
